Help Me Create 3D Printed Toys
Hello my friends!
Many of you have supported my toy-making adventures over the last 7 years. Thank you! I am beyond grateful for your support. Making original art in the form of Designer Toys has been a blast, but it has now been a full year since I last made any of my larger products.
Why? At one point I had 8 3D printers chugging out toy parts, but now only 1 machine is in working condition. I unfortunately cannot afford to replace them. My only resin LCD printer died today and it was a real gut punch. I used that printer for my freelance jobs to check parts and make sure the details looked good.
Is this the end of my 3D printing adventures? I sincerely hope not. You can help keep the dream alive!
There have been many of you, my friends and family, who have told me they would support a fundraiser like this. It’s hard for me to ask for help, but I finally decided to give this a try and see what happens.
$13,000 is a lot of money, right??? That number is what it would take to get my dream setup. I can get by with less, so let me show you my plans. I would get a replacement resin printer first. I really need it on an almost daily basis.
Basic Setup: $1,775
$275 - Phrozen Sonic Mini – to replace my broken resin printer.
$1500 - Afinia H400+ (2 units x $750) – ABS extrusion printers to produce basic toy parts.
Mid-Level Setup: $4,275

$4000 - Ultimaker S3 – ABS extrusion printers to produce larger parts.
$4000 - Glowforge+ – Laser cutter for making all the extra cool stuff I can’t make with a 3D printer.
I’m open to alternative solutions. Do you have a working 3D printer that you just aren’t using? Maybe I can put it to better use? I’ll accept deliveries to my studio. Please contact me for the address .

Here I am at Designer Con 2018 selling my toy. That was an amazing day where I got to meet so many fans and online friends! The Designer Toy scenes is about kinship as much as it is about the toys.
