I’m reaching out during a very difficult season in my life. I’m a 22 year old who’s been living with sickle cell disease, and last February, I had to undergo a hip replacement due to complications from my condition. I’ve been working since i was 15 years old but because of my health, I haven’t been able to work for over a year now.

I currently receive disability benefits, but they only cover my basic monthly bills — rent, utilities, food, and medical necessities. I have no extra income to put toward unexpected expenses.

Right now, I’m facing urgent legal fees that I simply cannot afford. I’ve been notified that wage garnishment may begin soon, which would put me in an even more unstable financial position.

I am doing everything I can to stay afloat and manage my health responsibly, but I cannot get through this alone.

I am asking for help to cover these legal expenses so I can:

• Prevent wage garnishment

• Protect my limited disability income

• Focus on maintaining my health and recovery
