On Feb 11th, I took myself to the ER because I was having leg swelling, we thought this could be a blood clot. Well, the hospital did not find any blood clots, which was great news, but they did find an enlarged lymph node near my groin. This explained why I was experiencing lymphedema in my left leg. A few months before that, I had a few occasions of night sweats randomly. I followed up with my doctor, and she ordered me an MRI, which took place about 2 weeks later. The next step was to order a PET scan, but my insurance wouldn’t pay for it without a diagnosis. So, on March 3rd, I was in the hospital for a surgical procedure for lymphadenopathy. This would enable my oncologist to review the pathology and confirm the diagnosis. I was officially diagnosed with Large Diffuse B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (DLBCL). I had a PET scan performed on March 13th. The results showed a concentration of cancerous lymph nodes along my left pelvic region. I am currently at Stage 2.
