Lost Marley this morning. She was totally fine yesterday. I got woken up by a big thud at 2 am, she was on the floor panting, couldn't move, rushed her to the vet, they did an ultrasound and they said she had cancer tumors on her spleen and it burst and she bled out within an hour.
I just uprooted my life and moved from Calgary to Ottawa for a big job opportunity. I spent every dollar I had on the move, and I was not financially prepared for this vet bill for her cremation. I had a friend lend me the $1478 for the bill, but I don't get paid for a few weeks and would like to pay him back right away. I also would love to spend anything else on a nice memorial tattoo for my baby.
Hug your dogs and treat every day as if it's their last. I find comfort knowing I gave her the best life possible. She came everywhere with me, 5 cross country road trips, tons of bus adventures all over BC and Alberta, she met probably thousands of people and dogs over her 7 years, she appeared on many podcasts and made friends everywhere she went. If you ever met Marley, you know how special she was, she was my best friend. I dont know how im gonna ever get over this. RIP Marley I love you so much. Big thank you to Serge Larcher for helping me carry her and staying with me the whole time, you're a true friend.
