Hi everyone — I joined this group back in 2021 with hopes of having bariatric surgery. After a long journey, I was blessed to have gastric bypass on 5/4/22 and have since lost over 100 pounds. I stepped away from the group for a while because I wasn’t able to contribute at the time, but I always told myself I would come back once I was in a better place to give.

My entire life, I struggled with being overweight, so this transformation truly means everything to me.

2025 has been about getting healthier mentally, physically, and emotionally. But 2026 is about stepping fully into my healing, rebuilding my confidence, and completing this journey by becoming the best version of myself. While I’m incredibly proud of how far I’ve come, the excess skin on my arms, legs, and stomach has been challenging, especially when it comes to my confidence.

I’m fundraising to help cover skin removal surgery so I can fully step into this next chapter. Any support truly means more than I can express.

A little about me: My name is Shawntrice Jackson. I’m 31, and I love being adventurous. I’m always trying to find the next nature trail to walk or climb in snow or shine, lol. My next mini adventure will be zip lining across Niagara Falls this summer. I’m also a proud plant mom to over 40 plants, and I genuinely love people — I’m a social butterfly at heart.
