A Journey Interrupted; A Dream Revived
In 2011, I was a first-year master's student at Aleppo University in Syria, pursuing my education when my country entered a conflict. Like many young students at the time my life became uncertain, and I was forced to flee, leaving behind my education, my family, and the future I had planned.
Later, I rebuilt my life by working in humanitarian organisations, focusing on public health, nutrition, and food security programs. Over the years, I gained valuable expertise, but the pain of my unfinished degree never left me. It was more than just a diploma; it was a symbol of what I had lost, in addition to many other challenges that came after.
In early 2024, I finally took the step to reclaim that lost dream. I enrolled in an MSc in International Public Health at Liverpool John Moores University, determined to combine my practical experience with academic expertise.
I have completed seven out of eight modules, but now I face another obstacle. After losing my job, I can no longer afford to pay for my final dissertation module, which costs £1,511.50 (approximately $1,920 USD). Without it, I cannot graduate.
This MSc is not just for me, it's for the millions of people affected by public health challenges worldwide. With this degree, I can deepen my knowledge, enhance my ability to design effective programs and continue serving the communities that need it most.
Your support will help me:
✔ Pay for my final dissertation module, tuition fees, and transfer fees (££1687 / ~ USD2100)
✔ Earn my MSc Degree after 12 years of waiting
✔ Continue working in humanitarian public health and making a difference
Even a small contribution brings me one step closer to completing this journey and continuing my mission to support vulnerable communities.
