Help Me Complete My Design Internship with Tommy Bahama
Donation protected
My name is Kendu-Marquette Williams, and I’m the founder and designer behind the unisex streetwear brand ART IV PLAY. Since 2017, I’ve used fashion to tell real stories of identity, grief, resilience, and rebirthing yourself. Everything I create is rooted in purpose. I’ve worked hard to get here and recently, one of those doors finally opened.
I was selected for a design internship with Tommy Bahama from June 16th until August 8th, a rare opportunity to work alongside a globally respected team, sharpen my skills, and grow as a designer. This moment means everything to me. But due to lack of housing support from the company, I’m now at risk of having to decline the internship simply because I can’t afford to relocate on my own while having a place in Dallas to support.
That’s why I’m reaching out for support from my community—to help raise $4,000 to cover the cost of housing, travel, and basic expenses for the duration of the program.
Breakdown of Costs:
Temporary housing: $2,700
Travel to location: $400
Transportation & food during program: $600
Emergency buffer: $300
I’ve always believed in creating space for people like me people who are often underestimated, underresourced, but overflowing with a strong vision. This isn’t just about me getting ahead. This is about representation, opportunity, and purpose.
If you believe in community, in fashion that speaks, and in supporting underrepresented creatives who are doing the work—I’d be deeply grateful for your help.
Every donation, every share, every word of encouragement helps me get closer to this dream. And when I walk through those doors, I’ll be walking in with all of you right beside me.
Thank you for believing in me.
