Help Me Compete at the World Uni Games!

Hi, I’m Archie, and I’ve been selected to represent GB Students at the 2025 World University Games in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany this July — competing in Triple Jump, and long Jump

This is a big step in my athletics journey and a chance to compete on a global stage for the first time. I qualified after winning British University Champs (BUCs) earlier this season in triple — which was also my first comp back after an injury-filled winter — and now I’ve earned the opportunity to represent GB Students at one of the biggest student sport events in the world.

The only issue is funding — and that’s why I’m reaching out.

Unfortunately, the full cost of the trip (around £2,700) has to be covered by athletes themselves. That includes:

£2,100 – GB Students participation fee

£400–£600 – Flights

Plus: kit, accommodation, and local travel

There’s no financial support from my university or BUCS this year, so I’m having to fund it all independently.

I’m currently studying Biological Sciences at Loughborough, where I’ve been balancing full-time training and academics. I’ve been in the sport since I was 11, and have previously competed at the European U23 Championships — but this will be my first global competition, and hopefully a stepping stone to senior Europeans and Commonwealth Games in the future.
