DECA is a business club at my school where students can compete for the chance to go to Atlanta for the international competition. When I first joined DECA, I never expected to make it to the state level, let alone finish 8th in the entire state of New Jersey out of about 2,000 students. Now, I've been given the incredible opportunity to go up against students from around the world—including China, Spain, and Canada—who are all fighting to be at the top of their event.

I joined DECA at my school as a bit of a joke, not expecting much, but I was immediately welcomed into a loving and inviting community. It quickly became so much more than just a club—it helped me discover my passion for marketing and gave me a sense of direction for my future career. The support and encouragement I found in DECA have truly changed my life, and now I have the incredible opportunity to attend ICDC in Atlanta.

Attending ICDC means I’ll be able to network with students and professionals from all over, gain valuable marketing knowledge, and most importantly, increase my chances of earning scholarships to a good college. The experience will not only help me grow personally and professionally, but it will also open doors for my future that I never thought possible.

The costs to attend are significant, covering my flight, hotel, and registration fees. Though this may seem trivial, any money towards this cause means the world to me and I hope I can go compete with the best of the best at ICDC!
