Help Me Close This Chapter with Care

After much reflection, I’ve made the decision to close the physical space of Mindful You Yoga and Wellness Co-op. Our final day of operations will be June 30.

This is not something I ever imagined writing.

Nearly eight years ago, after losing my mom to ovarian cancer, my life shifted in a profound way. I found myself drawn to healing in a deeper sense. Yoga became part of that path. It helped me quiet my mind, reconnect with my body, and find steadiness in the midst of grief.

At the time, I was traveling outside of Dundalk to teach and experience spaces like this. I remember thinking, why doesn’t this exist here?

So I created one.

For the past eight years, I have poured myself into building a space rooted in care and community. A place where people could come as they are and feel supported.

This work has shaped me just as much as it has served others. It has led me deeper into nervous system-focused work, somatic awareness, and a more intimate understanding of what it means to truly support healing.

And in many ways, this moment feels like part of that path too.

The final part of this chapter is learning to let go.

And while there has been so much beauty in what was created, the reality is that sustaining a physical space has come at a significant personal cost.

Over the years, I have invested tens of thousands of dollars of my own money to keep the studio open. This was not something built from excess or ease. There were seasons where I worked additional jobs simply to cover rent and keep the doors open.

I believed deeply in what I was building and did everything I could to sustain it.

There were also moments where it felt like it was working. 2025 was a strong year, and I was able to experience what a more sustainable version of the business could look like.

But 2026 has been very different.

The lasting effects of the pandemic, along with shifts in the local economy and events like the Key Bridge collapse, have impacted the flow of the business in ways that made it difficult to recover or stabilize.

I am still carrying debt from those earlier years, including an SBA loan that I continue to pay monthly.

This current deficit, while significant, is only a fraction of what has already been personally absorbed in order to keep this space open for my community as long as possible.

Now, even closing the doors comes with a financial burden.

Between rent, final expenses, and honoring commitments, I am facing up to a ten thousand dollar deficit just to close the studio responsibly.

I am a small business owner, a mother to a six-year-old, and someone who has worked incredibly hard to hold this space for as long as I could.

This fundraiser is not about keeping the business open.
It is about helping me close this chapter without taking on even more debt.

This has never been easy for me to ask.

I have spent years doing everything I could to keep this space accessible and affordable for the community. Asking for financial support in this way is not something that comes naturally to me, and it is not something I have done before.

Part of my own journey, both personally and through the work I offer, has been around the nervous system, around holding, efforting, and being the one who carries everything. In many ways, this moment is asking something different of me, to receive and to allow support in.

If you have ever connected with me, with this space, or with the work that has been offered here, I am asking, gently, for your support.

If each person gave what felt manageable, or even simply shared this page, it would make a meaningful difference in helping me move through this transition with more stability and less strain.

You can continue working with me through HarmonyIsHealing.com, where I offer one to one sessions and small group experiences rooted in nervous system support, somatic work, and individualized care. This work is offered in more intimate settings across a few different locations.

There may also be some online offerings through the current platform as we explore ways to keep parts of this community accessible in a new form.

I also want to acknowledge the practitioners who have been part of this space. Each has contributed to what Mindful You has been, and if you felt connected to their work, I encourage you to continue supporting them beyond this space.

I truly hope that what was created here touched people in some way.

This is one of the hardest chapters I have had to close, and I am doing my best to do so with care and honesty.

Thank you for being part of this journey in any way.

With Gratitude,
Crystal
