Caregivers give everything, but rarely get the thanks they deserve. I’m raising funds to provide them with one unforgettable day where they feel loved, seen, and celebrated.
I’m Stephanie, a longtime caregiver to an older disabled brother, and I cared for my mom until she passed. I’m also a proud mother of a Ph.D. student at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Caregiving is personal to me, and I advocate for them because I know the sacrifice, love, and exhaustion that come with it. That’s why I started hosting Caregiver Appreciation Day in Panama City, FL., on September 25, 2021. The following year, I changed that date to October 2, 2022, which is my mother's birthdate. Former Mayor Greg Brudnicki proclaimed this an official day in memory of my mother, Mrs. Mildred Grady. She cared for my brother even when her health was failing. This year marks my 5th event. I have had guests from out of town attend. It is my prayer to grow it bigger yearly.
Caregivers are often overlooked and overwhelmed. I want them to have a day where they feel truly seen, appreciated, and celebrated. This event offers four hours of joy, featuring a catered meal, vendors, speakers, gifts, laughter, and even tears. No judgment calls here.
I’m not a nonprofit, just one person with a big heart. This has been a handicap because businesses want to support nonprofits as a write-off. All donations I receive are deposited directly into a special account at a credit union for this event. Every dollar helps cover costs like food, venue, DJ, supplies, photographer, advertising, and gifts. Your donation will help me give these amazing caregivers a day they deserve and will never forget.
Please donate today to help me show caregivers how much they matter. Every dollar, no matter the amount, will make a difference and bring smiles to those who need it most. I appreciate any help you can provide.
