Hello, my name is Joseph.

I’m raising money for myself after a birthday trip turned into a frightening emergency that left me behind on my bills. I am disabled, I have seizures, and I live alone, so when everything went wrong, I had no one at home to fall back on and no easy way to manage the crisis. That has made this situation especially hard and scary to handle on my own. While I was in Long Beach, I found out my booking was unsafe, and I was stranded for 9 hours after being abandoned by a friend. I had nowhere safe to stay, and I ended up using the money I had set aside for my bills just to survive. I also had to pay for emergency hotel stays, and some of those hotels would not give me a refund. By the time I got home, I was short on the money I needed for basic essentials.

As if that wasn’t enough, after I returned home I was injured in a scooter accident. I suffered a busted lip, a contusion, a head injury, and needed five stitches. Recovering from all of this while disabled and living alone has been overwhelming. I’m doing my best to get through it, but I need help catching up. The support from this fundraiser will help me pay for my lights and internet, and hopefully help with medication costs too.
