It started with us taking care of horses with mental and physical trauma. We rehabilitated them, and in the process, we also healed ourselves and our clients. Today, we are building up the Horse Sanctuary, and we want to carry the horses’ message of love, healing, and presence into the world — starting with Dubai. To show that horses have far more emotional intelligence than we humans realize.
This year, I have stepped far outside my comfort zone. I’ve begun to share my own story and to be seen, to be heard.
As an Equine-Guided Recovery Coach, I started to write about trauma healing together with horses for *Brainz Magazine* with 2,1 millions readers world wide/month. Earlier this year, I was honored with the Crea Global Award for my creative and innovative ideas, adaptability in business, and contributions to sustainability and mental health due to these articles. Now I have been chosen for a bigger award that will be released in october and I am also invited to receive this award in Dubai - October 10-11th.
But this journey is about so much more than an award: It is about **witnessing healing** — The herd's, other horses, my own, Mats’s, and countless others’. For every horse who recovers from trauma, every person who discovers trust in themselves, every client who finds clarity, these are the victories that matter the most. This award and this travel are a way of carrying all those stories of healing, resilience, and hope onto the global stage.
I will not travel alone. My husband Mats will join me. He is a huge part of why I do this work, and this year he himself has been recovering from exhaustion syndrome with the help of our Herd at The Horse Sanctuary. We want this to be a place where horses and humans can interact and discover new ways of communicating and sharing experiences. Together, we embody both the healing power and the hope that recovery is possible.
