Cremation costs & Keeping up after losing mom

Hi, my name is Nijha. I’m 24 years old, a mother to a one-year-old baby boy, and right now I am the only person my mom has.
In May 2025, my mom was diagnosed with Stage 3 Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Within a very short time, it progressed to Stage 4. Our entire world changed overnight.
She fought through chemotherapy and radiation, and by the grace of God, she has been cancer free for the last four months. But beating cancer did not mean getting her life back at all.
The treatments took a serious toll on her body. She just turned 58 in January, and before cancer she worked full-time for 18 years at a job that required climbing ladders and lifting over 50 pounds and is still employed. Now she cannot stand for more than 5–10 minutes without assistance and has lost more than 30lbs in less than a month. I recently had to get her a cane because her mobility is so limited. With having to help her get off the sofa, toilet just about anything now, so that way if i’m not there she has something to hold on to.
This past month, her health has declined even more. She was hospitalized for five days because her weakened body is struggling to fight off an infection. She home now but needs antibiotics to treat it, but we cannot afford the full cost of the medication. Watching her survive Stage 4 cancer only to battle complications like this has been heartbreaking and heavy on me.
Doctors have placed her on disability, but it does not come close to covering our basic needs. Since May 2025, we have fallen further and further behind. We are currently:
* Two months behind on rent
* One month behind on the light bill
* One month behind on Wi-Fi
* Struggling to afford groceries with no food stamp assistance
* Facing medical bills and unpaid medication balances
I just had my baby, and he turned one year old. At first, I thought I could leave him home with my mom so I could return to work and start catching up on bills. That was our plan. But within the last month, everything drastically changed. Her health declined so quickly that she can’t even safely pick him up if he needs her. She can’t stand long enough to care for him, and she doesn’t have the strength to play with him the way a grandmother would want to.
The reality is, I cannot leave my baby with her anymore. She needs care herself.
Right now, I am home 24/7 caring for both my mom and my son. I feel like I am drowning trying to hold everything together.
I am her only real support. My sister is also disabled, and although she has four healthy brothers, they do not help us. Everything falls on me.
Thats okay because my mom is my top priority. I do not want to send her to a nursing home. I want to keep her safe, comfortable, and cared for in her own home. But we are at risk of losing our home if we don’t get help soon.
The funds raised will go straight toward:
* Rent to prevent eviction
* Utilities (lights and Wi-Fi)
* Groceries
* Hospital and medical bills
* The antibiotics and medications her insurance does not fully cover
* Daycare so I can return to work and start rebuilding stability
I never imagined I would have to ask for help like this. I am trying to be strong for my mom and my son, but I cannot do this alone anymore.
If you can donate, even a small amount would make a real difference in keeping us afloat. If you can’t donate, please share our story. Every share matters.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read this and for helping me fight to keep my mom safe and alive.
With love and gratitude,
Nijha A.
