I am raising funds to help the Feral Cats I rescue and care for in San Francisco. For over 20 years, I have caught 134 cats, and most of them were able to go on to new homes. The TNR cats (Trap-Neuter-& Return) come back to me from the SF SPCA, and right now I am feeding 12 of them under cars every night. I have taken this responsibility (Trapping,Feeding, & Medical Care) because these feral cats still need someone looking out for them, and I have done everything I can to make sure they are not forgotten. Each have a name. Some of my Sub-Tenants over the years have ditched out
without paying the Rent and Abandoned their Cats here and I took them in. The first one years ago now "Mr.Big" was needing Vet care.
Took him to the SPCA ... They had me on the phone right there getting a Credit Card to handle the bill. When I took him home, He died the next day. I'm still paying that bill every month for Years now.
Out of the $2000, I'm down to $850 @ $20 a month still. I have "Niki" here now, Abandoned also, who needs Dental badly. This is my focus right now.
It takes me 120 cans + dry every 2 weeks. For the Nights.
It's getting harder & harder to come up with it.
I lost my car 3 years ago
and a friend sold his used bike to me to use on 'My Rounds' down on Silver Ave. for the released cats I feed, Rain or Shine 7 nights a week.
I'm 72 now and proud I make it home each night back up the hills!
(I still dream of an E-Bike but those are out of my league).
Years ago, the SF SPCA stopped providing food and vet care, and since then those costs have been left to me. The SPCA now only fixes them, throws them out to fend for them selves. (The SPCA has cut staff back). (That's where I come in).
It's still better then putting them down. This is what they do outside the City. San Francisco is the only city that TNR's cats.
This fundraiser will help me continue providing the food and veterinary care (Niki) these cats need to stay healthy and safe. Any support would mean so much to me and to the cats who rely on me every day. With a little help, I can keep feeding and vetting these feral and abandoned cats and continue being there for them. NIKI is a sweet cat and theirs nothing I can do about it. In all these years I've never asked for any help ... But I'm asking now ... Thanks ...
Ron
