Hi, I’m Duncan Atherton, and I’m passionate about sports and action photography. I love capturing moments in go-karting, track and field, cross country, and portraits—both in daylight and under stadium lights.

Right now, I shoot with a Canon EOS RP. It’s been a great starter, but it struggles with fast bursts and low light. For sports, those missed moments mean missed opportunities. To keep growing and capture the action the way it deserves, I need a professional-level camera that can keep up.

That’s why I’m raising funds for the Canon EOS R3, Canon’s flagship sports camera. With its lightning-fast autofocus, burst speed, and incredible low-light performance, it’s the tool I need to freeze every moment and take my photography to the next level.

My goal is $4,500, which will cover a refurbished/used Canon R3 body. If support goes beyond that, I’ll put extra funds toward a fast lens and accessories like memory cards and batteries.

With the R3, I’ll also be able to expand into more sports photography, covering additional events and athletes beyond what I do now. Most importantly, I want to give back by sharing photos with the athletes and families who make these moments so meaningful—helping them relive the excitement and memories for years to come.
