Help me buy my previous employer

Hi, my name is Jac. I am the owner of a small company, the world’s first ‘meaning scientist’, and a staunch proponent of free speech. I make a podcast and create videos on a variety of topics. In addition, I’m working on an AI chatbot and a new social network, as well as a way for organizations to improve their communication and promotional texts and a virtual alternate-universe auto racing championship.

I have spent two years working in IT. During these two years and also before, when I was working on websites and ideas for games, I developed a vision of what I think the IT industry should be. I want to move it away from the power of the big corporations—the Amazons, Alphabets, Apples and Metas of this world—and give it back to the people. I want to use IT to help you create the world YOU want, instead of the world that makes these corporations the most money, individuals be damned.

Now it has come to my attention that one of my previous employers, a medium-sized Dutch IT company that has digital forms as its main business, is looking to sell by the end of the year. I want to buy it and transform it into a company that carries out my vision. Its current owner is in his sixties and is probably looking to enjoy his retirement. Given that life expectancy in the Netherlands predicts that he will live another 20 to 25 years, I think €2 million or thereabouts should be enough to give him a comfortable retirement.
