Ayúdame a hacer posible mi kayak en Chile

Hola, mi nombre es Uriel , tengo 20 años, soy kayakista y guía de río, y vivo en Jalcomulco, Veracruz, uno de los mejores lugares para remar en México.

El río corre en mi familia desde hace generaciones. Mi abuelo fue guía de rafting hace más de 40 años y gracias a él comenzó un legado que después continuó mi papá. Desde los 4 años practico kayak y, con el tiempo, este deporte se convirtió en mucho más que una pasión: se volvió mi refugio, mi terapia y mi camino de vida.

Durante la pandemia perdí a varios familiares, incluido mi abuelo. Fue uno de los momentos más difíciles de mi vida. El kayak me ayudó a salir adelante, a encontrar fuerza y propósito cuando todo parecía perdido. Gracias al apoyo de mi familia y de personas increíbles del río, decidí mudarme a Jalcomulco y dedicarme por completo a entrenar y formarme como profesional.

Después de cinco años entrenando sin parar, tuve la oportunidad de remar el río Zambezi, uno de los ríos más impresionantes del mundo. Hoy estoy a punto de cumplir otro gran sueño: remar el río Futaleufú, en Chile, un lugar clave para el aprendizaje y crecimiento en el kayak de aguas blancas.

Actualmente no cuento con un kayak ni equipo propio. Depender de equipo prestado o rentado limita mucho mi entrenamiento y mis oportunidades.

Por eso abrí esta colecta: para reunir los recursos necesarios para contar con mi propio equipo (kayak, chaleco, casco, falda, remo y traje seco).

El costo es alto, pero cada aportación, por pequeña que sea, hace una gran diferencia.

Este kayak no es solo equipo:

es una herramienta de trabajo, aprendizaje y un paso más para honrar el legado que mi abuelo inició.

Hi, my name is Uriel, I am 20 years old, and I am a kayaker and river guide. I live in Jalcomulco, Veracruz, one of the best places for kayaking in Mexico.

Rivers run in my family for generations. My grandfather was a rafting guide more than 40 years ago, and thanks to him a legacy began that my father later continued. I started kayaking when I was 4 years old, and over time it became much more than a sport: it became my refuge, my therapy, and my life path.

During the pandemic, I lost several family members, including my grandfather. It was one of the hardest moments of my life. Kayaking helped me move forward and find strength and purpose when everything felt lost. With the support of my family and incredible people from the river community, I decided to fully dedicate myself to training and growing as a professional.

After five years of constant training, I had the opportunity to paddle the Zambezi River, one of the most powerful rivers in the world. Now I am about to achieve another big dream: paddling the Futaleufú River in Chile, a legendary place for whitewater kayaking and learning at a high level.

At the moment, I don’t have my own kayak or equipment. Depending on borrowed or rented gear limits my training and growth.

That’s why I started this fundraiser: to gather the resources needed to have my own full setup (kayak, life jacket, helmet, spray skirt, paddle, and dry suit).

The cost is high, but every contribution, no matter how small, truly helps.

This kayak is not just equipment:

it is a tool for work, learning, and growth, and another step in honoring the legacy my grandfather started.
