Paying Tribute to Demetrius Cooks Sr. AKA Dad

Hello everyone,

My name is Akia Dorsainvil & I am the eldest of six siblings. I'm making this GoFundMe to honor my dad.

Demetrius Cooks Sr. was born January 21th, 1978, and was a free-spirited, quiet, calming being with a charismatic personality. A family man but with a tremendous amount of traumatic experiences that shaped his quality of life. A big goofball at times from his silly dances to catchphrases in his baritone voice and sound effects that made him, him! He was a loving and devoted father, son, and brother whose life was unexpectedly cut short by an array of possibilties. After a year-long battle with depression (due to the unexpected loss of his son, my brother Tyler Cooks Sr late last year from an overdose he wasn't really able to move forward through his grief (like most of us) & it took form another kind of transformation.

As you all can imagine, this sudden tragic event has been gut-wrenching for our family. I write to you all asking for your support and assistance. Our family appreciates any donations big or small (even $1 can help) to aid with funeral expenses and funding for his children during this unforeseen hardship.
