I am a disabled, senior citizen who has always had a deep love for books. My SSI is a pittance, and I need and want to go back to work to support myself. That’s why I’m building my own Book Store—a place where my passion for books can become a new beginning. This project isn’t just about me; it’s about creating a space that brings joy to others and gives me a sense of purpose again.
My store, Beyond a Bookstore, is a place of recovery, healing, and wellness. We will offer metaphysical and spirituality books, along with tools, applications, and other accoutrements that are key in healing and recovery. There’s even more: we’ll provide access to healers, training on meditation, guest speakers, and other resources to support our community’s journey toward wellness.
The funds raised will go directly toward rent, displays, fees, licenses, and buying products for the store. Every dollar will help me get the business up and running so I can return to work and support myself. But there’s more to this dream: I want to help my dear friends, too. They recently received word that their department will close in June, and I hope to put as many of them to work in the Book Store as possible. They know about my project and support it wholeheartedly.
If you can help, your support would mean the world to us. Together, we can build something special—a place where books, healing, friendship, and community come together. Thank you for believing in this dream and for any help you can give!
