Being part of BuildOn has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. Through this organization, my club at Riverview High School came together with one shared goal: to help build a school in Africa and create opportunities for students who deserve access to education just as much as we do. Together, we did something incredible. We raised the full cost required to build the school. That number represents countless hours of planning, fundraising, teamwork, and belief in something bigger than ourselves. But for me, this journey doesn’t stop there. I have been given the opportunity to travel to Africa and physically help build the school we worked so hard to fund. This experience would allow me to see the impact of our efforts firsthand, connect with the community we are supporting, and take part in something truly life-changing. It’s not just about building a school — it’s about building hope, relationships, and a future.

However, while the school itself is fully funded, the personal costs required to participate — including flights and trek fees — are not covered. I am incredibly passionate about this opportunity, but finances are the one thing standing in my way. I want nothing more than to see this project through to the end and to represent my school, my community, and BuildOn with pride. I truly believe this experience will shape who I am, strengthen my commitment to service, and allow me to grow in ways I can’t fully put into words yet.

I have always dreamed of going into the medical field, and this journey excites my passion for helping others in any way possible. Being able to serve, connect, and make a difference—whether through education or healthcare—means everything to me. This experience will not only help me grow as a person, but also inspire me as I pursue a future dedicated to caring for others.
