Help Me Build a Home for My Dream Business

Hi everyone,

Wildlife has always been a source of joy and inspiration in my life. One of my earliest memories is visiting a butterfly exhibit on a kindergarten field trip to the Pacific Science Center. That experience lit a spark in me and just a few years later, after a fourth-grade lesson on Monarch butterflies, I begged my mom to plant milkweed in our yard immediately!

As I grew older, that curiosity only deepened. One day while walking my dog, I noticed a group of striking black-and-white butterflies with long wings. After some research, I learned they were Zebra Longwings. To attract them, I needed to know their host plant and finding it opened up a whole new world for me.

I discovered that the most successful way to bring butterflies into my garden was to plant both host plants (where they lay eggs) and nectar plants (where they feed). The results were magical. The sensitive pea I planted for Sulphur butterflies also brought in bumblebees. Firebush provided nectar for butterflies while its berries fed mockingbirds. My yard transformed into a small sanctuary alive with color, sound, and movement.

That transformation showed me something important: when we plant with intention, we restore connections. What starts in our own backyards can ripple outward, healing ecosystems and bringing people closer to the natural world.

Since then, I’ve been dedicated to sharing my love for wildlife and making native plants more accessible. My dream is to own land where I can:
• Grow native plants and food forest plants so more people can bring these benefits into their own yards
• Create jobs for butterfly wranglers, nursery staff, and support roles
• Free up time to make educational content that teaches people how to restore their own spaces with confidence
• Build a community resource that supports pollinators, food security, and biodiversity

Right now, I’m running my business out of my parents’ house, and at my current pace it would take me three more years to move forward. Waiting that long feels like forever and turning to investors would mean giving up the values that make this work meaningful.

I already have the knowledge, experience, and community connections for this business to succeed. What I’m missing are the resources to secure land and hire help. That’s where you come in.

Your support would not just help me achieve a dream it would give more people access to the plants, knowledge, and inspiration they need to reconnect with the natural world.

Thank you for believing in me and being part of this journey to restore the land.
