HELP ME BUILD A BRICK-AND-MORTAR CHEEKYWAWA STORE

My name is Fanti Kuo, and I’m here to tell you my story

Since I was a kid, I’ve always been someone who thinks outside the box, curious and rebellious by nature. I’ve always wanted something different than the path that society told me I should go. I went another route.

I was very fortunate that many investors saw my potential and supported me in
opening my first clothing business at 16. I’m a determined and hardworking person and have dreamed of having my own women’s clothing business since I was a teen, so when this opportunity opened up for me, I committed to the business, working 10-hour days, 7 days a week for 7 years straight.
My business was a success!

In those 7 years, life was a rollercoaster, and I found myself lost and confused, knowing there was more to life that was calling me. I was desperate to elevate myself, management style, branding, and marketing, so I sold my business to my ex-fiance and left.
In my own words, I was young and stupid. Maybe I was just too young at the time to really know what running a business meant, and when I sold the company,
I didn’t know much about closing a deal like this, and unfortunately, I didn’t get too much out of it.

Besides, I’ve always felt like I’m not entirely fit in where I’m come from. With the money that I got,I left Taiwan to go to England and Australia, and
I’m glad that I’ve found Australia to call home to

In Australia,I was studying in business, working part-time, and running my own women’s clothing online store CHEEKYWAWACOM

Unfortunately, COVID-19 hit me hard, and I've been forced to vacate my rental home , I can not work anywhere. Melbourne city had been locked-down for more than 9 months, I had not many choices left, not a citizen of Australia, just an international student, not much I could do to support myself any longer.

I had sold all of my furniture and appliances to pay off my rent and had to borrow some cash to get back home to Taiwan. After had been working my ass off trying to build a life in Australia on my own, the only thing has left with me
was the same luggage that I brought 5 years ago to Australia,
I am also going through some very manipulative, narcissistic, toxic abuse, draining, heartbreaking personal trials beyond losing the business.
At this point in my life, I have to be stronger than ever.

This is where I need your financial support to help me to get my business and life to the next level.

My goal with this brand is to build an empire that aims to inspire confidence in everyone within its reach and empower everyone working in this brand through respectful human rights and equality.
I am determined to invest my time and energy in building a brand that stands up as a platform full of opportunities for those like me who have something
important to share with the world. Who have
been through mental and physical abuse, who are changing their own destiny

Here are some initiatives that I am currently working on implementing
atCHEEKYWAWACOM ’s online shop,
which I will expand to when I open my brick-and-mortar store:

Ukraine Fundraising - I am committed to donating 1 USD for every order to
Ukrainian Red Cross Society

Body Positivity - I run ads for giveaways, ambassador competitions, and fashion influencers, so I would love to work with models of different ages, sizes
, and races worldwide to represent our audience.

People on my team - “If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. If you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.” I want to share all the knowledge I’ve learned from my experiences in sales, manufacturing, and retail over the past 12 years. I want to provide well-paid internships so that I can create an elite team where I can team them with everything I know about running a successful business.

Supply Chain - I want to make sure every person in my clothing supply chain has a safe work environment and their rights are respected and protected. I want to create more job opportunities and my priorities

This planet -
I commit to protecting our earth by using less plastic across my brand.

Support Artists and protect their creations - I want to recruit fashion designers to make their masterpieces come alive and earn commissions for their pieces, this includes fashion students, working moms, and even those who don’t have prior experiences as designers because anyone can be a designer with the right environment and support - that’s my belief.

Now, I want to expand my online brand into a brick-and-mortar store and here’s where I need your help.
I need to raise a total of 25,000 AUD to get my store up and running.
This total amount includes:
1. AUD 11,600- the rent of a 249 sq. ft. space
( 1.5 months of rent and 2 months of rent for the deposit.)

2. 11,000 AUD goes towards my stock, which includes shipping and attaching woven & swing tags services

3. 800 - 1000 AUD goes towards the website to add a Chinese version
to reach the Asian market and integrate a pick-up , checkout services online+
in-store and a shipping service

4. 1800 - 2000 AUD goes towards online marketing
for the Grand Opening Party and the Online Ads on Facebook, Instagram,
Pinterest, and TikTok
for the first couple of months

5. 11,000 AUD goes to the equipment needed at the shop, the interior design and the decor.

To sum up, the total amount is about 36,600 $
with my own saving will need to raise a total of AUD25,000$

Plan for this brick-and-mortar store - work on the online side of the business from 8am-12pm before the shop opens each day between 12-10pm. This would mean that I could sell my products online and in-person to walk-in customers at the same time.

The store will be created to be an Instagram stop, so every single inch of the 249-square-feet will be maximized as my office, my photo studio, and my storage room (and I might even sleep there, too, sometimes :)

This store will also serve as a small warehouse for me to pack and ship my orders faster to Australia and the rest of the world, as a photo studio to shoot and showcase my products on as many social media platforms as possible.

With this store, I will be able to quit my other teaching jobs to focus on this business 100% because I do not want to spend one more minute away from my dream and my destiny of running this business.
One of my favorite quotes is a quote from Spider-Man: With great power comes great responsibility.

I am confident in myself, and my abilities and my hard work ,I do believe that I have the unstoppable power to make this happen. A girl like me from Taiwan, I have a big dream and I truly believe this is my calling. I am meant to build this empire and I know it’s going to happen.

I am so thankful and appreciative of you taking your time to read my story. This is truly my passion project and I hope that you will be able to step foot inside my store very soon and fully experience everything I am dreaming of as a reality. Thank you for your vote of confidence in me.
Thank you for contributing to my campaign.
