Hi everyone,
My name is Sergiu, and I’ve always loved building computers. There’s something special about creating a machine from parts — especially when that machine can help someone learn, grow and unlock their potential. I myself was one of this kids at some point, sqeezing every bit of a pc to be able to explore more and become a software engineer.
This Christmas, I want to take that passion and build and donate 3 desktop PCs to school kids who are passionate about technology but can’t afford a computer of their own.
These are kids who dream of coding, designing, building or gaming — but who don’t have access to the basic tools they need. My goal is to give them a real head start in tech and I’m hoping to deliver these computers in time for Christmas — as a gift that could open doors for years to come.
Why Second-Hand Parts?
To make this project sustainable and affordable, I’ll be sourcing good-quality second-hand components. Many used parts still have plenty of life in them! With careful testing and assembling, I can build reliable and upgradeable PCs that will serve these kids well.
What Your Donations Will Cover:
Used PC components (CPU, GPU, motherboard, RAM, SSD, case, PSU)
Peripherals like monitors, keyboards, and mice (second-hand or budget new). Pheripericals are prone to break so I am thinking that new will work better
Cleaning, testing and assembling the PCs
Pre-installing open-source and educational software
Delivery or setup support before Christmas
These won’t be flashy high-end rigs — but they’ll be solid, dependable machines built with care, ready to support learning, creativity and growth.
Why Christmas?
Because for a kid who loves tech, receiving their first computer on Christmas morning is more than just exciting — it’s life-changing. It’s a sign that someone believes in them and that their interests and dreams matter.
Full Transparency
I believe in complete honesty and openness. So for everyone supporting this cause:
I’ll share regular updates with photos of the build process, parts sourced and final PC setups.
When possible (and without breaking any confidentiality or privacy rules), I’ll also share information or stories about the recipients, so you can see the real impact your contribution has made.
Your support won’t just disappear — you’ll see it come to life, piece by piece.
How You Can Help:
Donate whatever you can — every contribution helps.
Share this campaign with your friends, family, or anyone who loves tech.
Have old but working PC parts lying around? I’d love to repurpose them — feel free to reach out!
Let’s come together and build more than just computers — let’s build futures.
Thank you for helping make this small Christmas miracle happen.
With gratitude,
Sergiu
