New Country, New Life. Help Me Bring Sunny With Me

Donation protected
Hi, I’m Robert — I’m originally from Phoenix, Arizona, and I’ve just been accepted to study Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Hertfordshire in England.

This is a huge step forward in building the life I’ve always dreamed of. I’ll soon be back in the U.S., where I plan to work hard, save every dollar I can, and sell my vehicle to help fund this move. I’ll also be taking out a student loan to cover the rest of my university costs. And with the help of my aunt, who generously paid my tuition deposit, this dream is finally within reach. I’ll soon be living in the UK full time — studying what I love and building a future with the person I love close by.

Everything’s coming together.

But one piece of my heart is still missing.
Her name is Sunny — and I can’t leave her behind again.

Who is Sunny?
Sunny is my dog. But more than that — she’s family.
She’s 3 and a half years old, and she’s been my best friend through everything — the hard days, the long nights, and the moments when it felt like everything was falling apart.

When two of my other dogs passed away, Sunny was my rock. She stayed by my side, bringing comfort in ways no one else could.

If you’ve ever loved a dog, you already know:
That full-body wag when they see you.
The way they wait at the door like you’ve been gone forever.
The little sighs when they fall asleep by your side.

Now imagine being gone not for a workday... but for months.

That’s been our reality.

As of today, Sunny and I have spent 253 days apart.
And I don’t want to miss any more time we could have had together.

Why We’ve Been Apart
Over the last year, I’ve been moving between England, Poland, and Bulgaria — doing everything I can to stay close to my partner while saving money for my future.

Because I could only stay in the UK for 6 months at a time, I had to stretch my time in Europe — traveling instead of flying back and forth to the U.S., which is expensive and exhausting.

But that meant leaving Sunny behind.
Again. And again. And again.

She’s always waiting.
And I’m done saying goodbye.

⏳ Time Isn’t on Our Side
Dogs don’t live as long as we do.

Sunny is already 3 and a half. If I leave her behind for the 4 years I’ll be at university, she’ll be 7 or 8 by the time we’re reunited.

That’s so much time lost.
So many missed walks, naps, zoomies, and belly rubs.
So many days we could have shared.

I want her there when I come home from classes.
I want her curled up by my feet while I study.
I want her to explore England with me and be part of this next chapter — because she’s been part of every chapter before.

What Your Donation Will Help With
I’m asking for your help — to bring Sunny to the UK safely, and give her the love and care she deserves.

Getting her here is more complicated and expensive than most people realize. Between international airline rules, UK pet import laws, medical documents, and travel logistics, it adds up fast.

✈️ One-Time Relocation Costs: $4,025
Vet exam & USDA health certificate – $300

Rabies vaccine & booster – $100

Rabies Titer Test (required for UK) – $300

ISO-compliant microchip – $75

DEFRA UK import paperwork – $150

International travel documents – $250

Airline-approved travel crate – $250

Pet flight ticket (certified cargo handler) – $2,000

UK customs clearance & handling fees – $400

Ground transport on arrival (if needed) – $200

Ongoing Care (4 Years): $4,800
Once she’s here, I’ll be living on a student budget and working part-time to cover my own costs. This amount ensures Sunny is fully supported for the next 4 years while I’m in school — not through monthly donations, but as one-time funding.

Food & treats

Vet visits & checkups

Pet insurance

Flea, tick & worm prevention

Toys & supplies

Total Goal: $8,800
This covers everything — Sunny’s safe relocation and her essential care while I’m studying.

❤️ Why This Matters
This move is my future.
But Sunny is part of that future too.

She’s been there for me through everything.
Now I want to be there for her.

If you’ve ever loved a dog — if you’ve ever felt that tail-thump when you walk in the door after just a few hours — then you understand.

Now imagine what it’s like after 8 months apart.
Imagine missing 253 days — and knowing more are coming.

Please help me change that.

Whether it’s $5, $50, or just sharing this with someone who understands — you’re helping change both of our lives.

With love and gratitude,
Robert & Sunny
