Help me bring Springfield to Blaze

Donation protected
Hi everybody, I'm Sarah Stanton,

You might remember me from blaze things like the sweet spot, the devil cart and the bar that never left camp. I recently got inspired for a large art installation at Blaze based on a particular obsession I have for a funny little family. The photos above are from a recent time when I turned a house into some of Evergreen terrace in celebration of this family. Well I want to do the same at Blazing Swan. Except the difference is, there is no house, I have to build it. My piece consists of two mid size structures adjoined by an arch shaped doorway. In one room, a very familiar lounge room and in the other an even more familiar kitchen. Both rooms will have analog phones attached which are connected to your friendly neighbourhood dive bar which is 50-100m down the road (yes I've figured out how to connect them). Pick up the phone at any time and ask for your ol' mate Ivana tinkle, Hugh Jass etc. etc.. I've heard the Chilli peppers may be playing there (which for some reason we're now allowed to advertise haha).

Anyway, I think you get the gist. I have had confirmation of acceptance into James Hastings apprenticeship program (first two units - drinking export at any temperature and building safely with a ciggy in your mouth). So you can be sure that the structures will be super sound.

I did apply for an art grant for this however I was sadly rejected and therefore my only chance to make this a reality is to turn to y'all. The target figure lets me build all three structures with full kitchen, bar, seating, lighting etc. etc. along with transport to and from site. I have a full budget breakdown and some drawings. Any less and I'll have to scale back my plans somewhat (the structures themselves are actually the most expensive part). Any extra I vow to put into a fund for - "art pieces that are rejected by the arts department" to help another non-artists dreams come true.

I have written a piece as to why using a pop culture reference to inspire art is still in line with decommodification if anyone would like to look at it. (it's about three sentences and then "Screw Flanders" a bunch of times). I have no affiliation with the producers, writers or company of this nostalgic show. I do not do this for a living (hell I'm not even an artist apparently). I just really really want to bring this adult playground for you all to well play and laugh in. I want to see whether eating 64 slices of American cheese at night in said kitchen does in fact cause temporary blindness and whether the walls do start melting if we drink from the tap (might have to rethink that one).

Anyway if you are chuckling or are curious as you read this please send money to "Happy Dude" (or just donate via the button). If this all goes down like a lead balloon I will be moving to Iceland but I thank you for getting this far through my little spiel.

Love from Sarah Stanton
