Returning Home, Rising with the Sun

After several months upstate supporting a dear friend through her powerful and humbling journey with breast cancer, I’ve returned home with a deeper understanding of what it means to truly show up for one another.

Being by her side reminded me how vital it is for people to be held, seen, and supported—especially in their most vulnerable moments. That support can come in many forms: caretaking, spiritual, emotional, financial, or all of the above. The need may be ongoing, unpredictable, and nonlinear. Yet one thing remains constant: no one should have to walk that road alone.

Too often, we are conditioned to carry our pain quietly, to struggle silently out of fear, pride, or shame. But community care is not a luxury—it is essential.

Rising Sun Wellness was born from this understanding. It is the seed of a long-held dream: to create a space and resource hub that bridges people in need with those able and willing to give. A space where compassionate care meets practical support. A sanctuary for those who need support, rest, recalibration, and restoration.
