When COVID hit, my family and I faced some of the hardest times of our lives. We lost loved ones, struggled with work, and our mental health took a hit. In the midst of all this, we realized that one thing people never stop doing is eating. So, we started selling our homemade food out of our apartment, sharing the flavors and recipes that have always brought us comfort and joy. Our community has always been there for us, and we’ve always tried to give back—helping anyone in need whenever we could. Now, we’re hoping to take the next step and bring our food to even more people by starting our own food truck.

Having a food truck would mean so much more than just a business for us. It would give me peace of mind, knowing I can cook outside my home and not have my house always smelling like food. It would also allow me to employ local neighbors and volunteers who have supported us through thick and thin. With a food truck, I could reach more people on the street, feed the homeless on weekends like I already do, and help my business grow by being more visible in the community. Most importantly, it would give my family the confidence to become business owners and show others in our neighborhood that dreams are possible.
