Help me bring my dogs home with me to Australia

Hi, my name is Nadja and I'm originally a Perth girl. I've been away from home for 11 years and have fallen on hard times after just coming out of a bad relationship.

As I have no support network or family in Europe, I am planning to return to Australia in late 2025 to reboot my life at 55. It's just me and my two dogs: Marley and Rufus, and I could never leave them behind. The three of us are thick as thieves, and in the last 11 years these two have been my guardian angels through some pretty horrific personal challenges.

I'm currently living in an RV as finding a rental with two dogs in tow is impossible in the current housing crisis. Every cloud has a silver lining, though, and my current simple living arrangement will hopefully enable me to save enough to fund my ticket home.

The bad news is that I have been looking into the cost of importing dogs to Australia, and with the vet bills, transport, and quarantine, it will be around €15k per dog and 7 months of preparation. Some have suggested I rehome my boys, but that just isn't an option for the three of us.

So here we are, hoping people find it in their hearts to help me bring the two loves of my life home as the expense is beyond my ability to fund.

Marley is a 14 year old cockapoo/spoodle that I have had since he was a tiny 10 week old pup. He fancies himself as an artist, and even starred in a short Irish festival film. It was shown on three airlines and on the European festival circuit.

Marley knows no fear and has experienced only love in his life. He's a serial hugger and drapes himself on people regularly. He likes nothing better than a good 'trick' - as long as he is the one doing the tricking.

Rufus is a 14 and a half year old poodle I rescued 9 years ago. He is very attached to me as I was the first human to show him kindness and I was the first he came to trust. Rufus is a funny fellow who is becoming more and more carefree as the years, months and weeks progress. He is constantly changing and discovering himself and his doginess. He brings so much joy to my heart, and watching him love life again is one of the most rewarding things I have experienced.

Rufus and Marley would be lost without each other and without me, and I would be lost without them too. Please help us get back home!
