For more than eleven years, I have been fighting to protect my daughter from being taken away from me. Despite a Dominican court granting me full legal custody in 2017, her father, Mr. Gustavo Montalvo Mena, used his influence and resources to pressure me into signing a private agreement that benefited him—while hiding the court ruling that legally recognized me as my daughter’s custodial parent.
I have now gone two months without seeing my daughter, and he continues to refuse to let me see or speak to her. He has scheduled a custody hearing on January 14, and I need urgent support to ensure my daughter’s rights are protected.
Over the years, I have faced intimidation, manipulation, and repeated attempts to block my access to justice. At one point, my ex-partner and his legal team even tried to declare me mentally incapable, but thanks to the intervention of my lawyer and official psychological evaluations, it was proven that I am fully capable and dedicated to my daughter's well-being. Despite these challenges, I have never given up on my daughter or our right to be together.
Currently, my daughter is being wrongfully retained in the Dominican Republic, and I have been prevented from having contact with her. Recent testimonies and evidence show that she has been exposed to inappropriate behavior by her father. In a desperate attempt to reach me, my daughter recently took a phone without permission to call and ask for help. I have kept all the audios and videos of these episodes as proof of her situation. In 2025, her father authorized her trip to the United States with me, and I returned her to him voluntarily, along with her American passport. Despite this, I continue to face legal and personal obstacles that keep us apart.
I am raising funds to cover the legal fees necessary to continue this fight. Every dollar will go directly toward my lawyer and the legal actions required to bring my daughter home and ensure her safety. Any support you can offer will help me fight for my daughter’s return and give her the life she deserves. Thank you for standing with us.
