Help me bring my Dads Pontiac TransAm to the USA

Hi, my name is Jesper, and I moved from Denmark to the USA on Christmas Day 2018 with my American wife. Really though, this story starts in 2007 when my Dad finally got to buy his dream car, a 1979 Pontiac TransAm. If you've ever seen any of 'Smokey and the Bandit,' you know the car. They are rare in Europe, but in Denmark, they are even harder to find.

Unfortunately, my Dad's Parkinson's disease made it impossible for him to continue driving about two years after he bought the car. However, he and I worked on it together and discussed any repairs in-depth, even after mechanic work also became impossible for him. Gradually, my Dad got even sicker. His speech got very hard to hear, and he started to have a lot of trouble walking and doing daily things. About 1 year before my Dad's Parkinson's disease claimed his life, he gave me the most meaningful gift. One day he presented me with the keys and the title to the Trans Am, saying that he wanted me to have it before he got sicker. I was so very honored and grateful, as well as of course sad about his declining health.

About a year after he passed away, my wife and I moved to the USA. Though happy to be here, some bad news awaited me; because of certain rules, moving the TransAm into the USA was more challenging than I expected. A year of determined research finally led me to a legal way to do so. Then, Covid19 hit the world and sent everyone reeling. Among the things subjected to a 'new normal' is the cost of shipping containers; the price to ship just the car went from $2,000 to $7,000 (not to mention our possessions which have been stuck in a storage unit, eating into our savings account). I'm only requesting help with the cost to move the car, however.

I need that car with me, it's the only remaining 'piece' of my Dad that I have, now that I live in another country especially. To keep his spirit alive and complete the project we started together is my ultimate dream and I ask you to help me achieve it. If you are able, will you donate to help me afford to ship the car over? Any extra donations will go towards registration, plates, and all the paperwork that is associated with importing a car.

This car means the world to me. It was the last project my dad and I got to enjoy together, and it has become my dream car, just as it was my Dad’s.
