Hi everyone! My name is Maia Edmondson-Campbell, and I’m beyond excited to share that I’ve been accepted into a Nursing Internship with International Medical Aid (IMA) in Mombasa, Kenya!

I am currently a nursing student at Trinity Washington University in Washington, D.C., working toward my BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) with the goal of becoming a Certified Nurse Midwife. My passion for maternal health and addressing healthcare disparities has led me to this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a global setting where medical resources are limited, but the need for compassionate care is immense.

Why This Internship Matters

In many developing countries, including Kenya, hospitals are severely understaffed, and healthcare disparities are widespread. Through this program, I will:

✅ Work alongside experienced nurses and doctors to provide care in hospitals and clinics.

✅ Gain hands-on experience in specialties like pediatrics, emergency care, and maternal health.

✅ Educate underserved communities on public health, disease prevention, and first aid.

✅ Be part of ethical, sustainable initiatives that address the root causes of health disparities.

Why I Need Your Help

This internship is an incredible opportunity, but it comes with significant costs. To participate, I must cover travel, housing, program fees, and necessary expenses.

Cost Breakdown:

To cover my accommodations, meals, hospital placement, flight, and training, the Four-Week Program Cost is $5,000-$6,000.

This is in addition to my college tuition.
