Please help Emmett and myself to help Emma reach her target.
Hi, my name is Emma. This June, I'll be traveling to Zambia with 14 other students, as part of Cuala GAA's TY programme, to volunteer with the Nsobe School.
Why I'm Going:
The Nsobe School provides education, life skills, a food programme and a safe, caring environment for their students. But here's the thing, the Nsobe School faces constant financial challenges which can threaten the school's ability to support its own operations. Funding is so important for the future of the schools' almost 400 students. That's where we come in.
What We'll Actually Be Doing:
For two weeks this summer, we will be working alongside the Nsobe community on projects that will directly impact these childrens' futures: building new classrooms, creating safe play areas, and constructing teacher accommodation.
The Bigger Picture:
Since 2016, Cuala GAA has been pioneering this program, and every single year, the students who go, come back changed. But more importantly, the lives we touch in Nsobe are transformed. Education is one of the biggest things that can improve the lives of these students and their futures - and we get to be a part of making that happen.
Nearly 400 students are counting on this school to stay open. Nearly 400 futures are depending on communities like ours showing up and saying, "We'll help. Your future is worth fighting for."
I Can't Do This Without You!
I'm required to raise these funds individually as part of the programme, and honestly, that's a bit daunting. Here's what makes this project great: 100% of the funds I raise go directly to supporting the Nsobe School and our construction projects. Not a single euro goes to my travel expenses—I'm covering that separately.
How I'm Fundraising:
I am doing something crazy to show how committed I am - I'm doing the 12 Days of Christmas swim at Seapoint this December! That's 12 days of freezing Irish Sea swims to raise funds for children in Zambia who've never even seen the sea. If I can brave the cold for them, I hope you'll consider supporting our mission!
Whether you can give €10 or €100, every single donation brings us closer to our goal and brings hope to children in Zambia who are working so hard to build a brighter future for themselves.
Thank you for believing in education, in opportunity, and in the power of young people to make a difference.
Thank you so much,
Emma Gallagher
P.S. If you can't donate right now, I totally understand. Sharing this fundraiser with your friends and family would mean the world to me.
