In October 2024, the closure of the Singapore Turf Club left hundreds of horses facing uncertain futures. When this happened, I became part of a tiny project — just three of us — trying to secure safe, long-term futures for some of these horses by rehoming them to Europe.
It may sound surprising, but keeping horses in South East Asia — even in places with 'acceptable' welfare — is extremely expensive. Over four years (and these horses are all ten and under), it is actually far more sustainable to transport them to Europe and care for them here.
Against the odds, our small project managed to get nine horses safely to Europe. Only one owner and two trainers contributed financially, which was heartbreaking given these horses had earned more than enough prize money to fund their retirements.
Five of these horses are currently in France. Sadly, circumstances have since changed, and there are now serious question marks over their ongoing care and long-term security.
My goal — and my heartfelt plea — is to bring them to the UK so I can care for them personally and give them the safe, stable future they deserve.
I was their equine sports therapist in Singapore, and through that hands-on work, I formed a deep bond with each of them. I know their needs, their personalities, and their histories. They trusted me — and turning my back on them simply isn’t an option.
Unfortunately, international horse transport is incredibly expensive, and I can’t do this alone.
I am asking for £10,000 to help cover the cost of:
* Safe, professional transport from France to the UK
* Ensuring proper care, supervision, and welfare throughout the journey
* Their ongoing care once they are home with me
Every penny will be used with their well-being at the heart of every decision.
Every donation — no matter the size — truly makes a difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean the world to me.
These horses have already faced immense upheaval through no fault of their own. With your help, I can finally give them a future built on care, stability, and compassion.
Thank you so much for reading, for supporting, and for helping me bring them home.
If you can help at all, please donate now. Time matters, and every share or contribution could change their future.
