Help us bring eye care to Malawi!

Hello, I'm Amir Moosavi, a second-year optometry student at Cardiff University, and I'm reaching out for your support. This summer, I'll be part of a team of 10 volunteers heading to Blantyre, Malawi, to provide much-needed eye care. We will be visiting the city of Blantyre, rural villages, schools and orphanages.

Access to eye care is especially difficult in remote areas. As a team, we plan to screen, test, and treat thousands of locals, focusing on the leading cause of preventable blindness in Malawi: cataracts. Your support will also allow us to provide glasses for uncorrected visual problems such as myopia (nearsightedness) and hyperopia (longsightedness). Additionally, we'll supply eye drops and ointments for conditions such as dry eyes and conjunctivitis.
