Hi, my name is Sandro Gomes, im 28 years old , and I’m going through one of the hardest moments of my life since the two times thay my mom had breast cancer and now i get a collapsed lung on day 17 April 2025 that caused unbearable pain and put everything on pause. I’ve always been someone who fights to overcome, but now I need to ask for support while I recover.

At 14, I was forced to grow up fast when my mother was diagnosed with cancer. She went through years of treatment — twice — lost both her breasts, had multiple surgeries, and somehow still stands strong today. That chapter shaped me forever. But 6 years ago, I moved to the Netherlands, and everything changed.

I started over from zero.

Worked like crazy — sometimes 14 days straight, 6-day weeks for years. No weekends. No holidays.

Biked 20km each side daily through snow, rain, and sun.

Recently got into the career I studied (electrotechnics), finally joined an amazing company with amazing people, and started rebuilding myself mentally, physically, and financially.

I even developed a new passion: studying finance and global economics — something that gave me hope for long-term growth.

But now, this lung collapse has knocked me down hard. Doctors had to open my chest to drain the air, and I’ll be out of work for few weeks...

I’m currently unable to work, and I don’t know how long the recovery will take.

I’m asking some $ to help cover basic lexpenses (hospital ,medication ) and give me room to focus on recovery without financial pressure.

If anything is left after I recover, it will be used to continue my journey: quitting smoking for good, improving my health, and helping my family that also been Fightint some health problem like my grandfather with bacteria in the leg after an operation and it been since 3 to 4 years .
