Help Me Bounce Back From Surgery

Hello, I’m Jack. I’m an international long jumper from the UK. In 2022 I was selected to represent Great Britain at the European Championships in Munich, and then again in 2023 at the European Team Championships. Following on from this I competed at the British Championships where I won my 4th Silver medal at a British champs.
However, 1 week after these championships, I sustained an injury in which I fractured my fibular in my left leg. I followed medical advice and guidance, but 7 months later, the bone still has not healed, leaving me with only one option if I want to compete again, surgery!
As this is not something the NHS are willing to do, I have decided to go down the private route to get all the scans needed as well as surgery, which will be happening in early March. Being a fully self funded athlete, this has obviously come at a cost, both for medical expenses, as well as time away from work, when the injury first happened and again now for the surgery. That’s why I have created this page to try and help me get through the necessary surgery, the rehab following, and hopefully get back to competing at an elite level. If the surgery is successful I’m told it will be roughly 3 months to return to relatively normal training (fingers crossed).
It has been both a mental and physical challenge for the last 7 months but one that I am confident I can keep battling through to get back to where I was, and competing on an international level. However I do believe I need help to achieve this. If you feel you would be able to help support me in this journey, it would be hugely appreciated, or I would equally appreciate it if you could share this with someone to help spread the word.
