Los Angeles County is in a severe dog crisis. The shelters are overcrowded with unwanted stray dogs. Unfortunately, with these backyard breeders, it's only getting worse. Every day, dogs are dying simply to make space.

To help deal with this issue, a little over a year ago, I decided to turn my side yard into a safe place for these stray babies to stay while a plan for them is found. Basically I’m the stop before the shelter. Luckily, the whole time my area has been up and running, every dog that has stayed with me has avoided the shelter.

My area has come a long way but I'm always looking to improve my area and with it starting to rain soon, I gotta do something to help keep my area and the dogs dry.

Right now I’m using canopies and tarps, but I need a more permanent option because with all the dogs in need, I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon.

The money I raised from this fundraiser will help cover the cost to build an awning. Below you can see what my area currently looks like as well as what I’m hoping to build. Anything extra raised will be used to further improve my area.
