Help me become trained in Trauma Informed Care

Hi, my name is Ashley Gallagher. I am currently completing my master's degree in Social Work from the Joint Master's Program at UNT and TWU.

I have interned at the Children's Advocacy Center and am currently interning in the Frisco School District. Throughout my two years in internships and my master's program, I have learned about the importance of trauma-informed care. I attended a coffee talk hosted by Mike Giresi, who defined complex trauma and informed us how to assist those with trauma. He and his colleagues have created trainings for counselors and social workers nationally. The lessons I learned from that one hour made me realize my passion for working with adolescents with complex trauma. I would feel so empowered and blessed to receive funds to help get me into this training. This training would help me structure my framework as a social worker and, one day a Licensed Clinical Social Worker performing counseling. I hope to attend this training to propel my goals and dreams forward and make me look more competitive for employment when I graduate in May 2023.
