#help me become the doctor you’ll need tomorrow

My name is Gift Zulu. I was born in the Kingdom of Eswatini, in Southern Africa.I came to the United States in July 2017 on a scholarship to play golf and study pre-medicine at New Mexico Military Institute, where I graduated with an Associate Degree with highest honors.

My my next step is to transfer to New Mexico State University in August 2019 for my junior and senior years, so as to complete my undergraduate program and earn a bachelor’s degree. Following that, I intend to go to medical school to study osteopathic medicine. I choose this academic path for one reason. The first one being that I want to contribute something to the society. Let us face it, the world will never be a better place without anyone taking the initiative to make a little effort to make it much more conducive. For me, I feel that being a doctor will help me fulfill my need to help people.

I do not want to be any doctor, I aspire to be an orthopedic surgeon. Such an aspiration ignited in the late years of my high school years following a bike accident that nearly compromised my ability to play golf. My right elbow had appeared to have been deformed, I could not flex, extend, nor supinate my arm. Each time I attempted to swing a golf club, I would groan in pain because my arm motions were restricted. I was literally failing to synchronize my arm movements. I was constantly crying because in my head there were these voices that kept saying, “there goes your golfing talent.”
Nevertheless,I persevered and soldiered on through the pain and thank goodness time had it fading away with each week that went by. The most pleasing news I ever got was hearing a bone specialist tell me that my arm bones; that is my ulna, radius and humerus, were intact and free of any fractures. To cut to the chase, my ordeal was what gave birth to the dream I am now chasing.

Over the years, my persistence in chasing this dream has been fueled by nothing, but ambition. The sad this is that sometimes life does not care how ambitious one may be, it will throw all kinds of inconveniences to weigh us down.Speaking of inconveniences, one biggest inconvenience life has thrown at me has been disguised as a financial constraint, which is the reason I am using the gofundme platform to reach out for help.

With the help that I am doing g to receive through this platform, I intend to pay for my two years of college at New Mexico State University so that I can successfully complete my undergraduate program. Completion of my bachelor’s program will be a stepping stone towards getting to medical school, hence any help directed towards me through this platform will not only be greatly appreciated, but will also be a great investment to a young man who will someday change your life, loved one’s life, or friend’s life for the better. We should be acquainted with the phrase, “one thing certain about life is that it is uncertain.” Imagine, someday being diagnosed with severe arthritis and thus requiring a total knee joint replacement to alleviate the great deal of pain and restore your ability to walk. I vow that your kind donation will bind me to heartily help you.
