Help Me Become and LVN - In Honor of My Dads Memory

Hi, my name is Angelo Apodaca, and I’m asking for your help as I take the first big step toward becoming a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).

Growing up, my family didn’t have much. We often struggled just to get by, and most of the time, our focus was simply on surviving—making sure there was food on the table and trying to hold things together. I didn’t grow up surrounded by opportunities or with a clear sense of direction. But now, I’ve found my purpose: nursing.

I want to become an LVN because I’m driven by a deep desire to make a real, positive impact on people’s lives. Nursing allows me to show up for others in their most vulnerable moments—not just with care, but with compassion, support, and dignity.

This dream took on even more meaning after my dad passed away a few months ago. His loss was one of the hardest things I’ve ever experienced. But even in pain, he never complained. He found comfort in small acts of kindness, and that has stayed with me. I want to live out the values he taught me—empathy, strength, and helping others—through a career that reflects who he was and what he stood for.

Right now, my mom is the only source of income in our household, and I help support my younger siblings as much as I can. With everything going on, we simply can’t afford the cost of LVN school on our own. That’s why I’m turning to you.
