Hi everyone,

My name is Becky, and I’m currently a student at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education with a Special Education focus. I’m reaching out with a humble heart to ask for your help as I take the final step toward my dream of becoming a preschool special education teacher.

I'm about to begin student teaching, a required and exciting part of my journey — but I’ve hit a financial roadblock. I need to pay off a $3,500 student balance in order to register and move forward with my placement. Unfortunately, I can’t use FAFSA loans due to my participation in the TEACH program, which helps future educators like me in exchange for service commitments in high-need fields.

I’m currently working two jobs — as a paraprofessional in a classroom and as a waitress — to cover my basic living expenses. Despite my best efforts, covering this outstanding balance is more than I can manage alone.

My dream is to create a fun, loving, and creative environment for young children with special needs. I want to give every child the tools they need to learn, grow, and feel celebrated. I already hold degrees in Art and Communication & Sociology, and I’m eager to bring everything I’ve learned into the classroom to make a real impact in my community.
