Help Me Turn My Rescue Dream Into a Sanctuary Reality

Hi! My name is Demi, and I run a small dog rescue and hotel on the island of Curaçao.

What I’m doing now

Right now, I’m renting a house with a garden where I rescue dogs and puppies from the streets. With the help of Rescue Paws Curaçao, I work hard to find them loving forever homes.

To support myself and cover rent and bills, I also run a small dog hotel from my home. Unfortunately, it doesn’t always cover all the costs, and I often have to dip into my savings to make ends meet.

The house I live in now is far from ideal—it was a choice made out of necessity. I’m looking for a new rental, but most places either don’t allow dogs or are way too expensive.

My Dream and Goal

My dream is to turn my rescue into a registered non-profit (which costs money), buy a house with land, and build a sanctuary for animals who have nowhere else to go.

I want to give a safe and loving home to animals who:

• are at risk of being euthanized due to lack of space

• have medical conditions or are terminally ill but still deserve comfort and care and could live a few more weeks, months or years comfortably with the right medication.

• are too shy, too old, or simply overlooked for adoption

At my sanctuary, these animals will be able to run, play, rest, and live out their lives with dignity and love.

At the same time, I want to keep doing what I do best:

• rescuing and fostering street dogs and puppies

• finding them homes through Rescue Paws Curaçao

• and offering hotel stays for dogs to help cover costs
