Help Me Become a Mum Through IVF – And Stop HSP in My Family
Hi, my name is Kate, and I’m reaching out for support to help make the most important dream of my life come true — becoming a mother.
At 36, I’ve never been able to fall pregnant naturally. I live with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and take medications for multiple health conditions that have made conceiving on my own impossible. I’ve also been single for the past 10 years, but my desire to have a child has never faded. IVF is my only hope.
The full cost of IVF is $16,500, and I’ve managed to save $8,300 myself. I’m doing everything I can — but I can’t do this alone. I'm asking for your help to raise the remaining amount and give myself a real chance at becoming a mum.
There’s another reason this journey is so important to me: I have a rare genetic condition called Hereditary Spastic Paraparesis (HSP), SPG30. I’m the first in my family to have it, meaning I carry the mutation and have a 50% chance of passing it on. HSP causes progressive muscle stiffness, weakness, coordination issues, and fatigue. It impacts my mobility, independence, and ability to work full time.
Through IVF, I have the chance to use genetic screening to ensure my child is born HSP-free. If I can stop this condition with me, I will give it everything I’ve got.
This is a huge emotional and financial gamble — I only have enough saved for one attempt. But this is my shot. My dream. And if you can help, even just a little, it would mean the world.
Please help me reach my goal of $16,500.
Every donation, big or small, brings me one step closer to holding my baby in my arms — a child free from HSP and full of hope and dreams.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping me create the family I’ve longed for all my life.
With all my love and gratitude,
Kate x
