Hi friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers! I’m Victoria, and I’m on a mission to become a licensed marriage and family therapist—think of me as your future go-to for life’s big feelings and awkward family dinners. I’ve finished all my coursework (cue the confetti!), but my degree is being held hostage by an unpaid tuition bill. It’s the final boss level before I can start helping others professionally.
For the past 20 years, I worked in the Los Angeles shelter system, supporting survivors of domestic violence. Now, I work in animal rescue and spend my weekends helping the guardians of dogs and cats increase their access to care for their furry friends. My heart is in helping—whether it’s people or pets—and I want to make an even bigger impact for humans, but I need your help to get there.
As a diverse professional without privilege or external financial support, I’ve been juggling full-time work and full-time grad school—imagine spinning plates while riding a unicycle, and you’re halfway there. I’m passionate about supporting others, but asking for help myself? That’s a whole new adventure! Financial freedom would unlock my degree and give me the time I need to complete the hours required for my license. The clock is ticking, and every bit of support brings me closer to my dream (and maybe a little less caffeine).
If you can help me close this gap, you’ll be part of my journey to becoming a therapist. Your contribution—no matter how small—will help me file for my Associate’s number, start seeing clients, and finally put all those textbooks to good use. Two years have already slipped by while I’ve tried to make this happen on my own. Your generosity will not only change my life, but also the lives of the people I hope to help. Thank you for believing in me, cheering me on, and maybe even laughing at my jokes along the way!
