I am currently facing a challenge that is standing between me and my dream of becoming a first generation college graduate. My pathway is to become a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, a goal that means so much to me and my family. However, I have an outstanding college balance that I need to pay off in order to register for my upcoming classes. Without clearing this balance, I won’t be able to continue my education or move closer to earning my degree.

To try to make ends meet, I’ve been working two jobs, but this has taken a toll on my health. I’ve already had two hospital visits because I’ve been overworking myself and not allowing my body to function properly, especially with my already compromised immune system. Paying off this balance will not only allow me to register for classes, but it will also help me focus on my studies and finish my education without risking my health. Becoming the only male in my family to graduate from college would not just change my life, but also inspire my family and community.
