I have always wanted to be a father. While many people dream about careers, travel, or finding the perfect partner, my heart has always been set on parenthood. For years, I’ve prepared myself for sleepless nights, changing diapers, and passing on family traditions. My adventures have always felt incomplete, because I envisioned everything with a child by my side. For the last eleven years, I’ve lived beneath my means, saving every penny to create a nest egg for my future family. It hasn’t been easy, but I am proud of what I’ve achieved so far.

Despite my best efforts, I’ve reached a point where I need help to cross the finish line. As a single gay man, I am pursuing surrogacy, but my employers only offer assistance for adoption. Unfortunately, my insurance only covers medical assistance for a spouse, and will reimburse me for medical expenses.

Both of my parents have passed away, and I don’t have financial assistance or an inheritance to help. I am an Army veteran and have worked as a nurse since 2010, often holding two jobs to build my savings.

The process is exhausting, and the costs are overwhelming. The funds I raise will help cover agency fees, surrogacy fees, medical bills, legal fees, travel expenses, and essential baby supplies like those diapers and formula.

This isn’t easy for me to admit, but I’ve learned that I am going to have to ask for assistance. I have decided to swallow my pride and be vulnerable.

Right now, I have entered the phase where I could truly use support—both encouragement and financial help. Any contribution, no matter the size, would help relieve some immediate pressure (the initial payment) and allow me to focus on preparations and continue forward with creating stability.
