Help Me Become a Chiropractor – A Dream in Progress
Donation protected
Hi I’m Sanna. I’m the one to the left in the picture This is my story.
Two years into my chiropractic degree at London South Bank University, and I’m loving every moment — it truly feels like I’ve found where I belong. As a self-funded student (due to a prior nursing degree), I’ve managed to cover the costs so far, juggling two jobs. But financially, it’s becoming increasingly tough. To complete this dream career change, I’m taking the hardest step — asking for help.
My Story
I first discovered chiropractic in my early 20s, in my native Sweden, after a severe horse-riding accident left me in chronic pain and inability to function in daily life. Traditional treatments didn’t help, but after just four weeks with a chiropractor, I was pain-free. He suggested I consider becoming a chiropractor; more women were needed in the profession. I was excited to do find out more. However, when I realised that I would need to move abroad to study, I got scared and ended up choosing nursing instead.
In 2010, I moved to the UK. I thought again about chiropractic, but life and kids made the timing difficult. Then in 2023, I lost my job in private nursing. It felt like a sign. I discovered LSBU offered chiropractic and, this time, I went for it. Now, despite being a single mum in my 40s, I’m all in — showing my kids it’s never too late to follow a dream.
Why Chiropractic?
Helping people live healthier lives has always driven me, it’s what led me to nursing. But chiropractic goes beyond treating illness; it’s about prevention and long-term wellness. Using our hands and a deep understanding of the body, we help people heal and stay strong. That’s the kind of care I want to give for the rest of my working life.
How You Can Help
Your support will help with tuition fees so I can continue and finishing my training. I want to spend the rest of my working life doing something I truly love — helping people live healthier, pain-free lives through hands-on, preventative care.
Every donation, big or small, brings me one step closer to making that happen. Thank you for believing in me.
