Hi, community! My name is Kaniz, also known as Khaotic in the NYC creative scene. I'm a self published author, spoken word poet, and community curator. The creative arts and community building have been a passion of mine all my life, but even more so since 2020.

This year, I decided to take a chance on myself and my passion and say yes to the opportunities even if they don't say yes to me. Except this time, it did! I got accepted to join a cohort of writers at The Heart Of It Writing Retreat facilitated in August by the amazing poet, Desiree Dallagiacomo. I have the opportunity to commune with other poets and writers for a week in California to commit myself wholeheartedly to the craft and come out the other side as a better writer and educator myself.

As a full time creative entrepreneur, inconsistent income presents an obstacle with securing my spot by paying tuition. The tuition is $1500 and all inclusive for lodging, food, and travel. I have to pay the full amount by April 30th OR a first payment installment of $375 by April 15th. I'm asking for your help with funding this investment into myself as a poet.

This opportunity means the world to me, the first of many possibilities when I choose to believe in myself. And I would love the chance to meet myself in a new way.
