Cancer picked a fight with the wrong person. I’m asking for your help as I begin the biggest battle of my life. A second biopsy confirmed that I have Large B-Cell Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, an aggressive and fast-growing form of cancer. Hearing those words changed everything in an instant. Even with how serious this diagnosis is, my doctors have given me something powerful to hold onto — hope. They have told me that this type of cancer is highly treatable and can even be curable, even in advanced stages. That is what I’m choosing to focus on every single day.

There are still many tests ahead to determine exactly how far the cancer has spread, including my bone marrow, spine, heart, and lungs. One of my kidneys is currently blocked, which has been causing a lot of pain and has made this journey even harder. Next week I will be admitted to Huntsville Hospital to begin chemotherapy and additional treatments. My treatment plan will require 5-day hospital stays every couple of weeks, and this fight is expected to last around 6 months. I know this road will be hard. There will be days filled with pain, exhaustion, and uncertainty. I will lose my hair, my immune system will be weakened, and I will be unable to work the way I normally do.

As I prepare to fight this battle, the financial burden of hospital stays, treatments, medications, possible surgery, and lost income is becoming overwhelming for me and my family.
